So we’re late again. Shikata ga nai.
Episode 44: Torrent
Alice in Wonderland episode! Holy crap this is great! Also, you may not know this (I actually forgot it myself), but the March Hare’s friend is not once referred to as the “Mad Hatter” in Lewis Carol’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. Had to go back and fix at least one of those.
Episode 43: Torrent
More images after the break (minor spoilers).
STAR☆ANIS, start!
By the way maguro (tuna) sort of sounds like makura (pillow). Go figure.
Episode 41: Torrent
(If you’re a CR rep, it’s nothing personal)
What is a fansub? Is it a literal translation of the original Japanese, made in order to bring you as close to the original experience as possible? Is it a chance to show off how fancy you can make karaoke effects? Show off your English writing skills (read: thesaurus)? Maybe even try to expand your e-peen and get net popularity? Just what is it?
Woo, down to the last ten episodes! And finally, something I’ve been waiting for for a while has finally come back. Funnily enough, the characters acknowledge that it was forgotten about for a while.
As for notes, I could write about what daifuku and senbe are, but that’s not terribly important. And if you’ve been watching anime for any amount of time, you’re probably already aware of the Obon Festival and how they force little girls to sing and dance to bring back the dead (or something). Well, you get the point. Enjoy your lolis.
Episode 40: Torrent
So like I said, delays this week brought to you by Japan, planes, and soul crushing goodness. By the way, the thing that Orihime keeps bringing up, 嗣子の子落とし(shishi no ko otoshi), literally means “lion-child dropping”. Wish we had something closer in English. Next episode hopefully on time.
Episode 39: Torrent
1) Soreyuke! is the name of a radio show from the 80’s. It’s translated in the episode.
2) Powa Powa Puririn doesn’t [really] mean anything.
3) … (I think you’ll know what I want to say if you just watch it)
Episode 38: Torrent
Also, next season plans… uhh… eventually.
Because apparently I wasn’t ranty enough before.
Yeah, so here it is. I think there maybe should be notes about takoyaki or okonomiyaki, but you all know traditional Osakan foods, right? Right.
